Janitor AI is what a lot of people went to when Character.AI's filter got strict. It's a community site full of user-made characters, most of them tagged for adults, and there's no content filter for logged-in adults. It's free to use with the site's own model; power users plug in their own API key from another provider for better writing. Web only, and the interface is functional rather than pretty. The library is enormous.

Content freedom with a hard line
Janitor's safety page states its position: it is a platform for adults, it respects their autonomy to tell the stories they want, and it balances that with zero tolerance for content that breaks its guidelines and a firm line against anyone suspected of being under 18.
