Shagle is close to Chatspin in what it does - random video chat with masks and filters - but it lives in the browser only and the crowd feels a bit larger. You can pick a country for free, and gender filtering is part of the paid tier. Virtual masks hide your face if you want them to. There's a text-only mode too. The interface is plain and quick, which is a compliment on a site where the whole point is skipping fast.
What Shagle is
Shagle is a random video chat site with a country filter across 70+ countries, which it calls the most international random chat on the internet. Thousands of people are online at any time, according to its own pages, and the site says you won't meet the same person twice. It's from Social Media Ventures LLC, the company behind Chatspin, and the two share a legal framework and much of the feature set.
Filters and how to use them
The location filter sits at the top left of the screen: pick a specific country to see only people from there, or exclude countries you don't want. The FAQ also answers the question everyone asks, why you sometimes get users from random countries after selecting one: the pool for a given country can be small, so the site widens the match. There is a "cam enabled" option so you only meet people who have their camera on. To move on, hit the arrow next to End Chat and you're on to the next person.
Tokens and paid features
Shagle's terms describe tokens that can be used to send virtual gifts or open premium features. There is no public price list on the pages we checked; the amounts appear in the app when you go to buy. The base video chat is free.
Safety features
Shagle's safety page puts three things forward. A Report button sits at the centre of the screen and the site asks users to flag anyone breaking the rules. Private chat can be encrypted: once switched on, messages and broadcasts in private chat are encrypted. And you control what you share: social handles like Instagram, Snapchat or OnlyFans are optional and are only transmitted to the person you're connected with if you choose to add them.
The privacy policy states the service is not intended for anyone under 18 and that data from minors is deleted if discovered. Prohibited users include anyone under 18.
