Bazoocam started in France and still has a European feel, with a lot of French, Spanish and Italian speakers. Its one odd and lovable feature is games: you can play simple multiplayer games with the stranger you're matched with, which gives shy people something to do with their hands. No account, no download. The site is a bit dated in looks and the crowd is smaller than the global players, but it's a different kind of room.
What Bazoocam is
Bazoocam is a French-born random video chat that has been around long enough to feel like a relic in the best sense. Hit the blue Start button and you're paired with a stranger; hit Next and another one appears. The site is available in several languages (French, Dutch, Portuguese and Spanish are listed alongside English), and its pitch is an international community where you can chat in your own language or practise another.
The two things it does differently
First, geolocation. Tick the box to share your approximate location (the name of your town) and Bazoocam pairs you with people who live close to you. That's rare in this category, where most sites think in countries.
Second, games. Bazoocam has small one-on-one games (Tetris, Tic Tac Toe and Connect Four are named) that you can play with the person you're matched with. The site suggests them as an icebreaker, and they genuinely are: a round of Tic Tac Toe removes the awkward first ten seconds.
Accounts and friends
You can use the site without an account. Creating one (nickname, email, password) lets you add someone as a friend and call them again later from your friend list. That's the only reason to register.
Moderation
Bazoocam says it is moderated constantly by more than 40 people, and the rule it repeats is blunt: keep your clothes on. Break the rules and you get banned for 20 days. The site states it is reserved for people over 18.
What we could not verify
Bazoocam's public pages are thin compared with the other sites here. We did not find a pricing page, a detailed safety policy, or a company name in the pages we checked, so this profile sticks to what the homepage says. If any of that matters to you, the other sites in the table publish more.
